Congrats to the man of the hour, everyone's favorite new dude, Andrew Langi, for his second place finish at Active Am over the weekend!

etnies, GvR & EA Skate 2!

etnies and Electronic Arts Inc. worked together to bring the etnies GvR to the Skate 2 video game, and to create an etnies Skate 2 RVM shoe for real world skateboarding. The etnies RVM Skate 2 shoe will be available when the game hits stores in early 2009.

“Skate 2 is a celebration of skateboarding and it’s really amazing how this game has brought the culture of skateboarding to so many kids. I really liked being a part of the original Skate, and it’s cool that they included me in Skate 2.” says Jason Dill. “The game is pretty realistic. I think it is funny to play a virtual me on a video game.”

etnies South Africa teamed up with Familia Skateboards and Eastpak Backpacks for a two week skate tour to some of the major cities in South Africa. The group consisted of 6 riders, 2 filmers, 1 photographer and 1 team manager. Check out Familia Skateboards for some photos of the tour.

Mikey Taylor did a little impromptu signing at Jack's in Irvine, CA on Friday, to celebrate their new Irvine store grand opening. If you missed it, I feel bad for you. There was free stickers and posters and etnies sunglasses, totally hot chicks and most importantly, MIKEY!

Sheckler's New Park! Top Secret Footy!

Ryan Sheckler was kind enough to invite us for a skate at his new private skatepark a few weeks ago... he ripped and we all felt dumb for sucking so bad and just watched. This place is massive! Everything you see here isn't even the entire park. There's another level full of ledges, mannys, flatground and whatnot... not to mention the entertainment room, offices and on and on. Ballin'!

He's got another clip on his site right now as well. Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes action soon!

And yes, we are fully aware that this is total bro cam footage. Chill out. Relax. Stop being so picky and enjoy this for what it is. Sorry we aren't friggin' Steven Spielberg or something. Sheesh.

A Rolling Perspective! Last Stop!

A Rolling Perspective

etnies and Color Magazine asked skateboarders to shoot a photo of themselves from their own perspective, skateboarding. Over 200 portraits have been collected from skaters across Canada, the United States and as far as Japan. With the help of Fourstar Clothing, a selection of these self portraits of pro skateboarders, artists, and other talented individuals have been composed into an exhibition in celebration of skateboarding.

The show has been broken into a three-part art crawl (or roll) traveling across the country during the next six months from Vancouver (BC) to Montreal (QC) with stops in Winnipeg (MB), Calgary (AB) and Toronto (ON). Opening receptions in each of these cities take place in separate spaces at different times. Attendees are encouraged to take their cruiser boards out and celebrate the freedom of skateboarding and embrace the roll from spot to spot.

Ryan Sheckler is heading to the Willowbrook mall in Wayne, NJ tomorrow for a signing. NJ is my home state, and the greatest state in the country and I'm personally pretty bummed I can't be there to witness the shennanigans, but all you Jersey heads gotta go and hold it down for me, ok? And send some photos while you're at it. Also, all you Sheckler fans stay tuned in the next day or so for some totally top secret footage of Ryan killing his new private indoor skatepark!

Nelson Claims Dutch Title!

This weekend the Dutch championships took place in Area 51 Skatepark in Eindhoven (The Netherlands). After three days of skateboarding, Dutch etnies rider, Nelson Mosikili claimed victory on Street! Nelson was not the only etnies rider killing it all weekend, three of the top four riders are etnies! Hessel van der Veer also took seventh on the mini ramp and 4th in the Bowl-contest! Congrats, boys!
