Arto 26?
Posted by: Mike Matz | Monday, March 22, 2004 | 0 commentsIf youre one of the lucky few that have had the chance to get a sneak peak at ArtoҒs new etnies pro model shoe
currently hitting stores in limited quantities, you may have noticed a number 26 on the back of the heel and two pine trees on the insole, lace plate and woven label. What's up with
that? Arto didn't just slap the 26 and the trees on there at random. It's local Finnish skateboarding lore connected to just two words: Kaks Kuus! Kaks Kuus?
Well, unless you're Finnish, that probably doesnt explain much. Kaks means "two" and kuus means "six" or "trees". Without giving too much of the lore away, all we can say is that there are a lot of trees in Finland, and that there is a certain popular skate hang-out related to that number. If you want to figure it all out, maybe you'll just have to take a trip out there.
